We have over 40 kilometers (25 miles) of groomed cross-country ski trails at the Flagstaff Nordic Center. To find current conditions and status of each of the trails, please visit our Weather and Trail Conditions page. Click on thumbnail images to see a full size photo.
Skate/Classic trails are groomed to accommodate skate skiing and Classic skiing. Our Skate/Classic ski trails are approximately 16-feet wide with Classic ski tracks on one side and the remaining area groomed to a corduroy finish.
Trail is flat and smooth. . .a great beginner trail. Benches are set up approximately midway in an aspen grove to accommodate rest and scenic viewing.
This trail is a little more challenging than the Schultz trail but still a good beginner trail.
Abineau goes from the lodge to the Weatherford / Bear Jaw trail intersection. It is a great trail for getting some distance under your skis.
This is a stand-alone trail accessed from the lodge area. Dogs on leash are allowed in this area.
North Rim trail begins at the lower Weatherford intersection and ends at the upper Weatherford intersection. This is another tremendous trail to really stretch out those legs and work the kinks out.
Raspberry is a cut-across between the North Rim trail loop. It is a good, steady workout heading up and a wonderful reward coming down this scenic trail.
The lower part of Reese trail is now 2-way travel from the Shultz trail intersection to the Skirt-to-the-Yurt trail intersection. The upper section is 1-way travel only up the hill toward Abineau trail from the Skirt-to-the-Yurt trail intersection.
Most of this trail is 1-way travel down from Abineau to the beginning of North Rim trail. There is, however, a section of 2-way travel near the Aspen Yurt and Restroom. The Aspen Yurt and Restroom are located in a gorgeous meadow where the Weatherford, North Rim, and Skirt-to-the-Yurt trails meet.
The lower part of Wild Bill Hill is 2-way travel from the Skirt-to-the-Yurt trail intersection to the lower Abineau intersection. 1-way travel only down from the Abineau trail to the Skirt-to-the-Yurt trail intersection.
Little Wing is a shorter, gentler version of the Raspberry Trail.
Classic-ski trails are groomed to accommodate Classic skiing. Our Classic ski trails range from approximately 4 feet wide to 8 feet wide with one or two sets of Classic tracks laid in when conditions permit.
This trail is extended from previous years. It now connects the Abineau, Wild Bill Hill, Reese, or Weatherford trails. Beginner portion (between Reese and Weatherford trails) is slightly more difficult that Schultz and Whitehorse trails. Sections between Reese / Wild Bill / Abineau trails are rated intermediate.
