Come out and join the Flagstaff Nordic Center to kick off our winter season in grand style! Starting Friday, November 14th, and continuing through the weekend, we will be starting winter with a great celebration, fat tire bike expo, bonfire and sale! It will be just too fun to miss.

Come on out and say “hi.” Take a ride on a fat tire bike, eat a burger and pick up some gear. We are getting our ski and snowshoe retail sales and focusing on rental gear. Come help clear out our inventory. We have a ton of snowshoes, ski gear, logo wear and much more for sale. Gear will be 30% to 70% off!

Our schedule for the weekend is as follows:

Friday, November 14th

  • Noon to 6:00 PM – Sale items available with a bonfire later in the afternoon.
  • 3:00 PM – Camping yurts and cabins rentals start for the winter season. Visit our companion site, Off Grid Getaways, for more details and reservations.

Saturday, November 15th

  • 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM – Sale items available, free fat bike rentals
  • Noon to 2:00 PM – Free BBQ

Sunday, November 16th

  • Noon to 4:00 PM – Sale items available

Race Description

Timing

  • This race will be chip timed.
  • Please follow posted guidelines and race staff advice on wearing your race bib to ensure the best possible timing accuracy.
  • Chip or ‘Net‘ time will be used for official race results.  This is the time from crossing the ‘Start‘ line to crossing the ‘Finish‘ line.
  • 2013 Results

Goodies

  • Every race entrant will receive a high quality race tee  (men’s and women’s specific sizing) and other assorted goodies.
  • Raffle prizes from local merchants.
  • Morning coffee from KickStand Kafé and post-race snacks will be made available.  Post-race burritos are available for purchase during online registration.

Packet Pick Up and Registration

  • Packet pick-up and late registration (IF SPOTS AVAILABLE, cash or check only) on Friday evening, August 21, 2015, from 4:00 PM to 6:30 PM at KickStand Kafé (719 N. Humphreys Flagstaff, AZ).
  • Race day packet pick-up begins at 6:30AM on Saturday morning at the Flagstaff Nordic Center.
  • Race day registration (cash or check only) will be available ONLY if spots are available.
  • The course will be marked with surveyors ribbon, pin flags, and directional arrows.

Aid Stations

  • There are three aid stations for the 15K and two for the 5K.  They’ll be stocked with first aid supplies, water, sport drink, and snacks.  Please see the race maps for locations.

  • If you’re from out of town save on costs, eliminate your race morning commute, and experience high-mountain summer camping.  Yurt, hut and tent camping is available just yards from the start line at Flagstaff Nordic Center. For yurt or hut camping please visit the camping website: www.offgridgetaways.com.
  • Please note that there are a limited number of yurt, hut, and tent sites available. Tent camping is available at special events only. All camping at Flagstaff Nordic Center is available on a first come, first serve basis.
  • There are other camping opportunities nearby in the Coconino National Forest.

Make reservations for tent camping below. Only Friday, August 22, and Saturday, August 23rd, are available for this event.

Race results are posted!  You’ll find results from all the races at RunSignUp.  

The 9th Annual Flagstaff Marathon is 100% off-road with varying (single-track, cross-country, dirt roads) terrain. Elevation gains are only 2200 feet for the full marathon, 1100 feet for the half-marathon, and 450 feet for the 10Km loop.  The course ranges from 8000 feet to 8600 feet above sea level. The marathon has been described as the most scenic and difficult marathon in the Southwest.

This race has been called the best supported race by many runners.  Aid Stations, Course Marshals and a very well marked trail ensure that you be able to enjoy the run at your pace without worry about getting lost or missing a turn. North Country HealthCare provides technical running shirts in both men’s and women’s sizes. Unique finisher medals are also given to every runner who crosses the finish line.

Proceeds from the race will benefit North Country HealthCare’s Angel Fund. The Angel Fund supports the uninsured and underinsured in our community who need healthcare. The funds raised will assist our patients in a number of ways such as to purchase much needed medical equipment, provide diagnostic testing not covered by insurance, transportation and overnight stays for out-of-town medical appointments, living condition modifications and much more.
